Welcome to the official website of the New Forest Bowling Association.
The NFBA is comprised of 15 Clubs across the counties of Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire. From Waterside in the east to West Moors in the west and from Downton in the north to Iford Bridge in the south.
The Association's headquarters is based at Brockenhurst Bowling Club in the heart of the New Forest.


Division 1

Fordingbridge, the champions, had only their 2nd defeat of the season when they lost at Lymington by 73-54 and 7-1. The home side's best were Dave Morrison, Anthony Clarkson and Roy Richardson, who won by 26-15. Fordingbridge finished 18 points ahead of Waterside who moved from 3rd to 2nd by overtaking their rivals, Ringwood, when they played them at Ringwood, winning on all rinks and by 82-54. Waterside's best were Dave Hawkins, Alan Mills and Ian Winterburn with 22-10. Braeside finished clear of the bottom side, Downton, beating Iford Bridge at home by 95-47 and 8-0. Their best were Martin Edwards, Mick Farrer and John Walsh with 31-8. Downton were beaten at home by Brockenhurst, although they shared the rinks, by 56-63 and 2-6. The visitor's best rink was Norman Cook, Paul Dudley and Malcolm Witcher with 24-8. Braeside and Downton are relegated.

Division 2

Fordingbridge A finished 12 points ahead of New Milton and both sides are promoted. The 'bridge were at home to Lymington A and although 3 rinks each lost by 4 shots their 4th rink, Steve Fisher, Graham Bailey and Roy Moretti made up for them by winning by 24-8. The final score was 65-61 and 5-3. Highcliffe also had a close game, at home to Milford, sharing the rinks and winning by 64-60 and 6-2. Their best rink was Neil Montgomery, Bryan Taylor and John Waller who won by 19-9. West Moors had a 73-60 and 7-1 win when they went to Lyndhurst. Their best were Derek Tilson, Charles Morris and Ray Hunt with 21-13. New Milton went to Verwood and had a clean sweep, winning by 82-53 and 8-0. Verwood and Lymington A are relegated.

Division 3

The top teams, leaders New Milton A and West Moors A played each other at New Milton and the home side won all four rinks and by 77-53. Their top rink was Ken Farrar, Doug Webber and Terry Breen with 19-7. Both teams will be promoted. 3rd placed Braeside A were home to Iford Bridge A and they also won on all rinks and by 92-48. Their best were Barrie Vincent, David Brooks and Richard Wilcox who won by 31-5. Waterside A were home to Ringwood A and they won by 69-62 and 6-2. Totton and Eling beat visitors Braeside B by 76-54 and 8-0 and both teams are relegated.

Division 4

New Milton B won the division by over 20 points with Lymington B in 2nd place, 5 points ahead of Highcliffe A in 3rd who lost out in the race for promotion. New Milton finished in style with a 71-49 and 7½-½ away win over Fordingbridge B. Their best were Mo Grieve, Colin Stokes and Roger Herlihy with 24-10. Lymington had a really close game, home to Lyndhurst, just winning by 67-66 and 6-2. Their top rink was Graham Morgan, Peter Collis and Brian Perrett with 24-8, a score which was equalled by John Paknoham's rink for Lyndhurst! Ringwood B were home to Highcliffe A and lost by 64-76 and 1-7. Milford A did not have a game.

Division 5

Brockenhurst A topped the division with a 44-30 and 4-0 home victory over 3rd placed New Milton C. Their best were Tom Warner, Mike Smith and Colin Buckle who won by 25-16. Waterside B had a single shot away win over bottom team Verwood A, by 31-30 and 3-1, to hold onto second place by one point. Brockenhurst B and West Moors B did not have games.
