Welcome to the official website of the New Forest Bowling Association.
The NFBA is comprised of 15 Clubs across the counties of Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire. From Waterside in the east to West Moors in the west and from Downton in the north to Iford Bridge in the south.
The Association's headquarters is based at Brockenhurst Bowling Club in the heart of the New Forest.


     In Division 1, Fordingbridge held onto top spot with a 80-64 and 6½ -1½ home win over New Milton, pushing them down into 8th place. They lost one rink, tied one and won on two, the best being 28-7. All the other home teams won as well, Ringwood had an 81-56 and 8 points win over visitors Braeside, their best rink being 25-10 by Dan Davies, Ed Melton and Lee Croad. Waterside scored 83-55 over Brockenhurst to pick up 6 points, with their best, M Alexander, Brian Mainwaring and Ian Winterburn winning by 28-9. Lyndhurst won a close game over Lymington, finishing 68-61 and 7-1. Their best were the three Johns, Hammond, Bennett and Howell with 18-13.

     In Division 2, the leaders, Downton, and second placed Iford Bridge, both had away victories. Downton won 72-68 at Verwood for 5½ points, with D Pothercary, A Walter and D Colgrave winning 26-19 while their Bob Tanner drew with his namesake, Bryan, 13 all. Iford had a close win at Lymington A, with 59 shots to 58 and 6-2. The home side's big winners, T Gardner, E Burrows and F Streets' 20-5 was matched by Iford's Rob Boatman, Mike Cooper and Ian Underwood's 22-5. New Milton A put out the 'Welcome' mats for Fordingbridge A, conceding on all rinks and by 43-80. The visitor's best rink was Jim Wych, Ron Barclay and Steve Le Moignan who won by 25-9. Braeside A had a home win over Milford by 70-57 for 7½ points. Three rinks were close, a draw and 2 and 4 shot wins, so their best with 7 shots were Peter F Brown, John Walsh and Brian Wrightson with 22-15.

     In Division 3, West Moors lead after their A team had a 79-57 and 7-1 home win over New Milton B who still keep second place. West Moors A's best were Gerald Power, Paddy Hester and John Bascombe with a 23-7 victory. Their first team had an away win over Lymington B by 75-59 and 6-2. Their top rink was Brian Burton, John Bestley and Albert Hewitt who won by 23-9. Highcliffe won their home meatch against Ringwood A by 69-53 and 7-1. Their best were Tony Smith, Bill Berry and Ian Chapman who scored 27-9. Braeside B obviously felt at home on Totton & Eling's carpet as they shared the rinks but won by 81-75 and 6-2.

     In Division 4, Ringwood B moved from 3rd to 1st with an 8-0 and 80-51 home win over Highcliffe A. Two rinks won by 13 shots, Jim Sillitoe's 25-12 and Frank Billett's 25-12. Although Waterside A beat Milford A in a close home game by 70-68 and 6-2 they dropped to 2nd place. Their strongest were the rinks skipped by J Blake and Kevin Gregory which both won by 9 shots. New Milton C had a good home win over Brockenhurst A by 67-52, collecting all 8 points. Their rinks skipped by Peter Richardson and Reg Smith both won by 5 shots.

     In Division 5, Waterside B had a close home match against Lyndhurst A, winning by 74-70 shots and 5 points to 3. Their only winning rink was B Roberts, R Coffin and B Wellington who won by 26-12, which was enough to cover the other three rinks. Fordingbridge B had a comfortable home win over Verwood A by 81-47 and 7-1.
